Patna: As Bihar gears up for the second phase of Assembly Elections 2025, the entire state has shifted into high-security mode. Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar has personally taken charge of the security arrangements, declaring that this phase will witness even tighter security than the first. With voting scheduled for November 11, Bihar’s administrative and security apparatus has transformed the state into what officials are calling a “fully secured election zone.” The DGP informed that polling will be held across 122 Assembly constituencies in 20 districts, several of which share borders with neighboring states and international boundaries. To prevent cross-border interference, special security arrangements have been deployed along the Indo-Nepal border covering seven districts, while extra surveillance has been activated along Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal borders as well. Kumar said international borders were completely sealed on Saturday, while inter-state boundaries would be closed by Sunday evening to restrict the entry of external elements. Patrolling in border areas has been intensified, and security personnel have been directed to maintain constant vigilance. The DGP confirmed that 1,650 companies of Central Armed Police Forces have been deployed across Bihar to ensure peaceful and fair polling. State police units have also been reinforced in all districts, especially those identified as sensitive and hyper-sensitive. Drones, CCTV monitoring, and Quick Response Teams have been activated for real-time tracking of polling stations. “Every voter must feel safe while casting their vote. That’s our mission,” Vinay Kumar said, emphasizing that democracy thrives only when citizens can vote fearlessly. Officials assert that the first phase of polling was peaceful, and the same discipline will be maintained in the second. This time, however, security has been scaled up to unprecedented levels. With borders sealed, troops mobilized, and the DGP himself on ground command, Bihar is all set to prove that it not only votes strongly but also protects democracy with unmatched resolve.
